ALA Youth Media Awards + the Final Semester of Grad School

Today is the day the ALA Youth Media Awards winners and honor books will be announced! I'm looking forward to seeing what wins, especially for the Michael L. Printz Award (for Excellence in Young Adult Literature).  I'll be at work later this afternoon, so I won't be able to watch the live webcast, but I will probably check in on Twitter or Facebook to see the results.

In other news, today marks the first day of my last semester of grad school! I'm enrolled in Youth Services, Electronic Materials for Children and Young Adults, and Adult Readers Advisory. Schoolwork will keep me busy for the next few months, but I will still try to update my blog regularly with book reviews and other content.

I'm sure it must be a nice feeling to be almost done with school!

What did you think of the awards announcements? I haven't read Ship Breaker yet but I've ordered it on ILL.

I haven't read a lot of the winners or honor books, but I plan to. I was glad to see John Green & David Levithan get some recognition for Will Grayson, Will Grayson as an Odyssey Award honor book!
