A Bit of Me(Me)

We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. There's a Book created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community she loves just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week she will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me).” Check back on her site each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up your post.

This week's question: What's the craziest thing you've ever done?

Let me preface this by saying that I am a pretty shy and cautious person, and I don't do too many "crazy" things. So it was easy for me to come up with the craziest! About six years ago, I ran "the naked mile." Let me tell you the story!

I was a sophomore in college studying abroad in England. My school, University of Evansville, has a campus in England called Harlaxton College. Isn't it lovely?

Harlaxton College has a mile-long driveway that leads out to the nearest road.

And when you reach the end of that mile-long driveway and cross the road, there's a pub. (Or there used to be back in 2005 at least.)

The "naked mile" is a student tradition that has been going on for years. Upon leaving the pub in the evening, students will shed their clothing and run naked down the mile-long driveway back to school. Some students did this multiple times, while others avoided it altogether and walked back fully clothed. Somehow my sorority sisters talked me into running with them one spring evening...and it was awkward, fun, and hilarious. There are pictures of this (unfortunately), and I'm hoping none of us becomes famous or those pictures will leak. haha! I'm glad I did it, but I doubt I'll go streaking anytime in the future. :)

What's the craziest thing you've ever done?

Wow! That's incredible! I can't even imagine how that would be, but even still I'm sure it was a lot of fun! Especially since you were able to do it with a bunch of friends. :o)

Thanks for jumping in this week!
