Grad school reflections: End of semester (or, why I've been MIA!)

The last half of April was quite eventful for me! I took some time off grad school and work. I flew out to San Diego to see my fiance graduate Marine Corps boot camp. His mom and two sisters came, too. We got to spend six hours with him on "Family Day" while he had base liberty. :)

Family Day
Sunset over the ocean...ahhhhh
Graduation day
After graduation, he was given 10 days of leave. When we got home from San Diego, we went to spend the weekend in his hometown so that we could be with his family for Easter. Then we drove down to Gatlinburg....and (drumroll please)...we got married!

After we got our marriage license :)
We got married in a beautiful little chapel that we knew of from a trip to Gatlinburg 3 years ago. We only invited our parents and immediate family since it was such a short notice.
Bride

Groom
Just married!
We spent a few days in Gatlinburg for a mini-honeymoon.

We came back home and celebrated his birthday. Then the next weekend was his sister's wedding. We actually waited until after their wedding to tell the extended family that we were married - we didn't want to steal the couples' thunder! haha.
There was a photo booth at his sister's wedding...too fun!

Then it was time to say goodbye - I dropped him off at the airport so he could fly back to California for infantry school (9 weeks). I'll miss him, but I bet the time will fly by!

I had my last week of classes and turned in all my final assignments. Final grades are in, and I'm pleased with them (A's on every assignment but one this semester!). I'm looking forward to my graduation ceremony in a couple weeks.

We wore costumes to our final Reader's Advisory class.
This was an awesome semester - I really enjoyed my classes. It's bittersweet to be done with grad school because I'll miss my classmates and friends, but I will definitely not miss the homework. haha. I'm really glad I made the decision to go to library school - I am excited to be starting my new career as a Teen Services Librarian. :) So anyway, that's why I've been neglecting my blog - there's been a lot happening in my life this semester! I finally have some free time to read and blog, so expect some reviews and posts coming soon.
