Harry Potter Challenge 2011: Re-read of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."

The last time I read this book was about 6 years ago, but I remember that I really enjoyed it at the time. The second time around I enjoyed it even more! I vaguely remembered the plot, so it was fun to reread it and still be a little surprised at some of the plot twists. I like that this book seemed to sort of break free of the formula of the first two books, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know more about the characters' backstories. This was such a fun read, and I actually flew through the book much faster than the first two, even though this one was the longest of them so far.

I watched the movie the day after finishing the book, which was probably a mistake because I couldn't help noticing all the details they left out of the movie. I feel like they could have thrown in a couple more lines of dialogue in the movie to explain who Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs were because I'm not sure how those who haven't read the books understood it all. Oh well! It was still fun to watch the movie.

On a side note, I really want to buy one of those "Moony & Wormtail & Padfoot & Prongs" t-shirts I saw on Etsy. Or something that says "Mischief managed!"
