Review - The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer

I read the Twilight series a couple years ago, but the name Bree Tanner didn't immediately ring a bell when I picked up this novella. However,I decided to check it out anyway and dive back into the world of Twilight--this time through the eyes of a minor character named Bree Tanner.

Bree is a newborn vampire who just barely remembers life as a human. She is growing more accustomed to her newfound strength, and she deals with an uncontrollable thirst for blood daily. Bree is somewhat of a loner until she connects with Diego, another newborn. Together they start to suspect that their creator intends to use them for her own evil purposes. There's a good mixture of action and romance in this story, but it was just too short for me to develop a real connection to any of the characters.

For me, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner was just okay, but I am sure those that are big fans of the Twilight series will appreciate it and will enjoy this look into the world of newborn vampires.
