Library Love (16)

I noticed that when I talk about libraries with friends and family members, they often say, "I didn't know libraries offered that!" Library Love is a feature in which I share many different reasons for people to use and love their local library. Some things I mention may be obvious to those of you who routinely use your public library, but others may be new to you. Either way I hope that this feature inspires you to visit and support your local library!

16. Attend free movie showings.

Many libraries have purchased licenses which allow them to show movies at the library. Classics, recent popular movies, family-friendly films...libraries show a variety of them! My library has a "Random Film Festival" for teens in which we show a different movie each month (with input from the Teen Advisory Board) and feed them popcorn. We also host several outdoor movie nights each summer in a local park and offer family-friendly games and crafts before showing the movie. These are great free outings for families on summer weekends!

Have you ever attended a movie showing at a library?

My library doesn't do that...but they'll get me any book that I want that they can get hold of...I love my library for that!
