Library Love (17)

I noticed that when I talk about libraries with friends and family members, they often say, "I didn't know libraries offered that!" Library Love is a feature in which I share many different reasons for people to use and love their local library. Some things I mention may be obvious to those of you who routinely use your public library, but others may be new to you. Either way I hope that this feature inspires you to visit and support your local library!

17. Catch up on your favorite TV shows or discover new-to-you shows on DVD.

Money is tight for a lot of us nowadays, and  many people are cancelling their cable. Libraries offer free (or cheap) DVDs of  popular TV shows for you to check out. Need to catch up on your favorite show by watching past seasons? Want to discover a new show to get hooked on? Try TV on DVDs at the library!

I've noticed that more and more libraries are charging now to check out DVDs and it's driving me nuts! I know most libraries need more money, but seriously... checking things out should be FREE! That being said, I have a brilliant idea for libraries to make money: Starbucks. In the library. Or any coffee shop for that matter. I feel like part of the reason why people love browsing at B&N so much is the coffee. So let's bring it to our libraries!

Oooh agreed! Anytime we can't find a movie we want to watch in Redbox, we check out the library :). A lot of times we'll find something we wanted to watch but never got to! Yay free! I love libraries.
