Bout of Books 9.0 Progress

Bout of Books

Day 1: I had the day off thanks to snow and extremely low temperatures, so I spent several hours snuggled up with the dogs reading. I got about halfway through The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy, stopping at page 222. If I pushed myself, I probably could have read the whole book, but I wanted to watch the 2-hour Downton Abbey season premiere and spend some time with my husband since he was home sick and bored. On day 2 I hope to finish the book. It is SO good!

Day 2: Another snow day for me! I finished The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. This is the only book I've finished so far in the read-a-thon, but it was 450+ pages, so I'd say that's good progress! Before bed, I read the first 6 chapters of Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina.

Day 3: I didn't read as much as I wanted to on Day 3. I had an appointment in the morning and had to go in to work in the afternoon. The roads were still covered in snow and ice, so it tripled my driving time. I spent an hour listening to an audiobook, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, and I read a few more chapters of Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina. I'll get back into the swing of things on Day 4!

Day 4: It was a decent reading day for me. I listened to an hour of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, and I read 9 more chapters of Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina. I'm on track to finish both books on Day 5.

Day 5: Another good reading day for me! I finished The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. (I actually started it before the read-a-thon, so this week I've listened to the last half of the book.) I also finished Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina and started reading Landline by Rainbow Rowell. :)

Day 6: I was sick so I spend most of my day on the couch. I didn't read much because I was having trouble staying awake. I read a few more chapters of Landline by Rainbow Rowell. I'm enjoying it so far! I just wish I felt better so I could spend more time reading.

Day 7: Still sick! But I managed to read 21 chapters of Just One Year by Gayle Forman, which is about half the book. Next week I'll finish both Landline and Just One Year.

Overall, I did pretty well this week, finishing 2 books and an audiobook plus making some progress in a few more books. I didn't meet my goal, but that's ok! Maybe next time. :)
