I have some good news to share--I was recently offered a job as a Teen Librarian at a local public library! I'll actually be starting at 36 weeks pregnant and then taking a short maternity leave once the baby arrives.
As some of you may already know, my husband's job requires that we live in a certain county, but until now I've always had to commute out of the county for work, the furthest being 2 counties away (I don't even want to think about how much money we've spent on gas or how many miles I've put on my car commuting these past several years...yikes.) While I'm sad to leave my current library and awesome co-workers, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to finally work close to home, especially now that we are expecting a little one. The new job schedule works really well for daycare and will allow me to spend more time with family, too.
And let's not forget the most exciting part -- the library recently went through renovations and created a brand new teen room! I'm really excited to get in there and start doing teen programming and collection development. :)
